Third Grade is the most exciting grade in the whole school. We learn how to write in cursive, memorize multiplication facts, play the flutophone, study Kern County and the Yokut Indians and read chapter books. It just doesn't get any better than that!!!

In our grade, we are always talking about learning to build a great future. Our future starts now.

Success is built by Great Attendance. We cheer and then are serenaded by a pig named Percy every day we have perfect attendance. If we can get 5 days in a row, we have a special guest.

Homework is assigned Monday-Thursday. I will not accept it after Friday unless students are absent on that day. Reading log is sent home Monday and is due on Friday. It should be completed and signed.

We have homework club on Friday. Everyone having all homework and reading log completed and signed will be invited to come to Homework Club during lunch and participate in activities.

Model behavior is expected at all times in class and on campus. Not behaving slows down the learning and it stops others from learning.

AR is a year long adventure. We are Getting in the Game with reading. The more they read, the more they know. The goals are set each quarter and students are taught how to keep track of where they are through the quarter. Book lists are being updated and will soon be on the school website. Help them find a book and get in the game by reading.

Dates to keep:

October 17 1st quarter AR cut off

November 3-7 parent conferences

April 20- May 1, 2009 CST Testing
