Parents and students,

Welcome to our new website! We are now half-way finished with the first quarter of the year, and students are busy learning class expectations, procedures, and routines.

There are a few of my policies that I would like to review:

* Homework is assigned four nights a week, Monday through Thursday. It is due the next day, as students enter the room.

* I do not accept late work, and I do not assign "extra credit". There are a few ways students can improve their overall grades: 1. All students may re-do any "D" or "F" grade (on their own time), with the exception of tests and special projects. 2. Students can decide to "buckle down" and turn in quality work for the remainder of the quarter.

* Progress reports are sent home every few weeks. I would appreciate it if parents would communicate to their student that they expect to see and sign the progress reports, so that they may be returned to school the next day.

* Parent conferences are coming up in a few weeks. I need to meet with EVERY parent to discuss student progress. More information on conference times will be sent home soon.

* Students at Nichols must earn the privilege to participate in fun activities that are planned in class, and school-wide. Good behavior, and passing grades are required.
