Welcome
to
Reese's Ravings
Second grade is an exciting and challenging year when students begin to become independent learners.
Conduct
Students are expected to behave, listen, and try to do their best work at all times. If the student chooses to follow the rules there will be many positive consequences that they will be rewarded with. Some may include a simple pat on the back or a smile, while others may be a special pencil, sticker or treat. If, however the student chooses to not follow the rules the appropriate consequences will also apply. Students will be given a conduct folder every Monday and it is due back at school Tuesday morning with a parent signature.
Homework
Homework will be assigned on a weekly basis. Homework packets will go home on Friday and are due back at school the following Friday morning. The cover sheet on the homework has a reading log on the back that must be completed. Each student should practice their reading excerpt 5 minutes with an adult each night. They should also read 15 minutes each night from a book or books of their choice. Other items of homework will include weekly spelling words and a review of the previous week's math. Occasionally the student will be asked to write a book report.
