Babies

On April 18, I noticed that a dove was building a nest in one of the hanging pots on the patio. To discourage her, I removed the nest.  She was more determined than I was.  The next day she laid an egg in the nest-less pot and then proceeded to build another nest around it.  On April 24th, a second egg appeared in the nest, and I decided to document the first days of these lucky babies.  The parents were so tolerant that I could get within a foot of the nest without disturbing them.

When I got home from school, I decided to check on "my babies."  I talked to them for a few moments like I always did, and then they both flew away.  I hope someday they will return home.
